AMS10 Data Centre

Commissioned by the technical main contractor and client Interxion, Van Boekel Bouw & Infra carried out a significant part of the structural work for the AMS10 Data Centre, located in Rozenburg on the Amsterdam Schiphol Campus. Boasting 14,400 m2 of gross floor area, it has a capacity of approx. 26 Megawatts.

The civil engineering part of the work consisted of concrete work for the foundation beams, the structural concrete walls, including the office, the loading docks and the concrete floors of the ground floor, first floor and second floor. The structural component consisted of the installation of precast concrete facade elements, the installation of fire-resistant wall and roof panels and gluing the sand-lime brick walls.

Almost all the devices we own that communicate with the internet and store data are connected to a data centre

This was a remarkably challenging project, due to the fact that all communication took place in English, that we had to abide by stringent international security standards, and because of significant time pressure (24/7 work). Adding to the challenge, the design was constantly updated based on the latest insights and much of the work had various interfaces with other disciplines.

Fortunately, Van Boekel strives to remain flexible at all times and can quickly adjust to the highly dynamic nature of these projects.

How can we help?
