Apeldoorn, Zonnebos car park

Van Boekel Regionaal has completed work on the ‘Zonnebos’ car park at the Achmea building in Apeldoorn, commissioned by Engie. On a site spanning 7,000 m2, Van Boekel worked together with the partners involved to design and build a car park with a sustainable, architectural carport installation.

The project

Achmea’s ‘Zonnebos’ car park features a uniquely sustainable and architectural carport installation. The project consists of:

  • 300 parking spaces, including 30 extra charging stations for electric cars;
  • Application of sustainable pavement elements;
  • A slim steel structure;
  • Water storage / infiltration under the pavement;
  • 3200 solar panels with a capacity of almost 1 MWp;
  • Apeldoorn
  • Engie

Tailor-made phasing

It was very important for the client that the parking spaces would be available in mid-August 2019. Subsequently, our client and partners would continue work on the carport installation in various phases. In the context of this project, Van Boekel Regionaal was responsible for installing the sewers, the water storage / infiltration system, and sustainable paving elements for a 300-car car park.

Simultaneously, the foundations for the carport installation were laid to ensure that more parking spaces would be available during the construction of the carport installation.

Within this project, Van Boekel Regionaal was responsible for:

  • Installing the sewer systems, including the underground water storage system;
  • Installing retaining elements to compensate for height differences;
  • Laying sustainable paving elements;
  • Laying the concrete foundations for the carport.

This sustainable project was developed and realised in collaboration with ENGIE, NBArchitecten, Moeskops staalbouw and Van Boekel Groep. Thanks to perfect chain collaboration, we were able to realise an element of Achmea’s sustainability objective.
