Construction of Turbo roundabout at IABC-Leursebaan intersection

The flow of traffic on and around the Leursebaan – IABC intersection in Breda is causing problems in the morning and evening rush hours.

Queues form on Leursebaan and the congestion also causes problems in respect of the safety of the bicycle crossing on Leursebaan.

Construction of turbo roundabout and bicycle tunnel

Van Boekel Bouw & Infra B.V. is currently constructing a turbo roundabout and bicycle tunnel on behalf of Breda municipality to put an end to the unsafe situation.

Van Boekel started the first phase of works in January 2022. The project is expected to be completed around 1 September 2022.

Traffic measures during construction of the roundabout

Temporary traffic measures need to be implemented to construct the roundabout and tunnel. The entire section of road is temporarily closed to traffic.

The adjacent companies remain accessible during the works via the existing road infrastructure. In some cases, a short detour will have to be made. Traffic is being diverted by means of signs.

All navigation systems are aware of these diversions.

The project can be followed via the app: “BouwApp”. A progress video of the project is posted to this app every month and you can remain abreast of all the information.
